The newest Ram 1500 is the perfect truck for those jacks of all trades out there. It is just as capable at towing carpentry equipment from site to site as it serving as your daily driver. If you are looking for a vehicle that is sturdier than most but still has some tough exterior charm, we here at Eide Chrysler highly recommend the new 2018 1500.
It is important to be able to tailor your new vehicle to meet the needs of your busy lifestyle, and that is why Ram has given you so many choices with the 1500. In regard to the cab size, you have the option of going with the Regular cab (paired with either a 6 foot 4-inch bed or an 8-foot bed), the Quad cab (6 foot 4-inch bed), or the Crew cab (5 foot 7-inch bed or 6 foot 4-inch bed). If you require extra room in the cab for passengers or just the items you haul with you for work, the Crew cab is probably your best choice. The Quad and Regular cab are smaller, but still provide you with plenty of legroom for your passengers, ensuring that nobody ever feels cramped. The choice of pickup bed size is obviously dependent on whether you frequently haul cargo and require the extra room, and by allowing you to mix and match the cab and bed sizes to a degree, Ram is ensuring that you are getting the vehicle that you need most.
The 1500 is all about utility, and to that end you can outfit the exterior with a number of things that will often come in handy. The RamBox Cargo Management System gives you four adjustable tie-down cleats and cargo bed rails so that you can easily secure whatever it is you are hauling in the truck bed. In addition, you get a cargo bed extender, making it much easier (and safer) to haul things that are long enough that you have to leave the tailgate down. A cargo divider lets you separate items to prevent damage and to improve organization, and lighting for the cargo box means that you will not have to search in vain for something in the dark. In order to make it easier to get to the truck bed, the available wheel-to-wheel side steps give you a leg up while also improving the truck’s aerodynamics. To protect the bed from dents, scratches, or rust, you can opt for either a spray-in liner or drop-in bedliner.
Ram does not skimp when it comes to performance, either, and that is why the new 1500 is no joke under the hood. There are three different engine choices available, including the 5.7 liter (L) Hemi V8 that will get you 395 horsepower (hp), 410 pound-feet (lb-ft) of torque, 15 miles per gallon (mpg) driving the streets of Bismarck ND, and 22 mpg while on the highway. The 3.5 L Pentastar V6 engine provides you with 305 hp, 269 lb-ft of torque, 17 mpg in the city, and 25 mpg highway driving. If you want to run with a diesel engine, you have the option of the 3.0 L Ecodiesel V6 that puts out 240 hp, 420 lb-ft of torque and nets you 21 mpg city driving and 29 mpg while driving on Bismarck ND highways.
Ram’s 2018 1500 is as versatile as a truck can get. It is not made for just one job; instead, it can excel at anything that comes your way. Regardless of whether you are looking for a workhorse or a truck for the family, the new 1500 has the right material for the job.
