Eide Chrysler's May Employee of the Month: Brian Helmenstein

Life's been busy here in Bismarck, and our Eide Chrysler team is keeping up. May was a great month at the store with a lot of happy customers choosing a new vehicle for summer.

We selected Brian Helmenstein as the Employee of the Month for May 2018.

Jason Hutslar, sales manager, says that he actually hand-picked Brian from his previous job and asked him to join the team at Eide Chrysler.

"Brian is consistent month-in and month-out," Jason says. "He's an integral part of the internet sales team."

Q: How long have you been at the dealership?
 A little over a year – I started one or two months after Eide took over. 
 
Q: What does a typical workday look like for you?
When I come into work, I sit down and check my messages, and then I just make a plan for the day. I know I'll have a lot of phone calls and appointments I want to be ready to help the customers who will be in the store. From there, I work through my list, so my day is pretty structured. 
 
Q: What is the most rewarding part of your job? 
The best part is talking to the customer a day or two after they drove their car home. They usually think I'm just trying to sell them any car, but after they live with the vehicle for a few days, they realize it wasn't just a line – we can find the perfect vehicle for their needs.
 
I love when customers call me up and are happy that they ended up with the exact vehicle they needed. People sometimes think that salespeople are just after the sale and that's not necessarily the case. 
 
Q: What is something you like to educate customers about when they're looking for a new vehicle?
Jeeps – I'm the "resident Jeep guy."
 
It's fun to talk about the capabilities of the various Jeep models. At Eide Chrysler, we sell the most capable vehicle you can buy off a showroom lot, and a lot of times people don't realize that until they start learning about what they're looking at. 
 
Q: What do you drive and what's your dream vehicle?
I have an old Dodge pickup that won't die, and my next vehicle will certainly be a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon
 
Q: What do you do in your free time? 
 I spend a lot of time on my motorcycle or playing guitar. 
 
Q: Why is Eide Chrysler a great place to do business? 
So many reasons! I really enjoy our philosophy – we're never going to hide numbers or make them appear to be a certain way. We're always very straightforward and honest. We don't hide rebates or trade values, so when you come here to do business you get the real story.
 
We don't play games, which is one of the reasons I work for Eide and not anywhere else. I didn't want the stigma that often comes with a car salesman, and now that I've been here over a year, I'm very happy to wear an Eide shirt.
