Best Ways to Disinfect Your Own Vehicle

Just like our staff at Eide Chrysler, you’ve probably been taking extra care to wash your hands and regularly disinfect your home, phone, and computer.

What about your vehicle? Considering the current events, it’s a good time for some early spring cleaning. 

In response to the coronavirus, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has compiled a list of products that are effective against COVID-19. 

There are nearly 300 products on the list, and they are all great options for disinfecting your Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, or any other vehicle during and after the COVID-19 outbreak.

The CDC says that these products are recommended because they have:

• Demonstrated their effectiveness against a harder-to-kill virus;
• Qualified for the emerging viral pathogens claim; or
• Demonstrated their effect on other human coronaviruses similar to COVID-19.

How to Disinfect A Car

Grab some disposable disinfectant wipes, or a spray bottle with paper towels. It’s time to disinfect your ride!

Here’s a handy checklist of high-touch areas inside and outside your vehicle:

• All door handles
• Steering wheel
• Media console knobs, buttons, and touchscreen
• Window buttons
• Dash
• All seats
• Sunroof button
• Storage consoles
• Gas cap

It’s also a wise idea to keep disinfectant in your car – especially during this pandemic. You can use it to sanitize regularly, as well as wiping down gas pump handles before filling your tank.
