Eide Chrysler's Employee of the Month: Mike House, Warranty Administrator

Eide Chrysler takes pride in providing exceptional service to everyone who visits our store on Missouri Avenue in Bismarck. The word "service" means several things to us. It's one thing to change oil in someone's truck, but it's another thing to keep them coming back.

Our Warranty Administrator Mike House embodies this type of service. If you've had service done on your Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep or Ram in the last 20 years in Bismarck, there's a good chance Mike has been a part of it.

"Opening our new store in Bismarck took a lot of work over the last few months. Mike stepped up and took on some new responsibilities" said Jesse Peterson, President and General Manager of Eide Chrysler. "He dove in head first and has been a great help to our store."

Jesse also appreciates Mike's willingness to step in and help out.

"Shortly after we opened Eide Chrysler, we got hit with about 5 feet of snow in a short period of time," said Jesse. "Mike and Steve Schaefbauer (Service Manager) were out on our lot from 6 p.m. to about 2 a.m. clearing snow, and then were up again at 6 a.m. so we could be open for business."

Eide Chrysler's Employee of the Month for December 2016

Question 1: How long have you been on the Eide Chrysler team?

Mike: I've been on the Eide team for just a couple of months, but I also worked for both Corwin Churchill Motors and Ryan Dodge before the store was sold to the Eide organization. I've been working with Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and Ram vehicles for about 20 years.

Question 2: What are your main responsibilities at Eide Chrysler?

Mike: I'm responible for submitting claims for warranty coverage in our service department. When someone with a Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, or Ram vehicle comes to Eide Chrysler for service, we check to see if the work is eligible for warranty coverage. We typically submit about 35 to 60 warranty claims per day in our service department.

Question 3: What's the best part of your job?

Mike: I would have to say my coworkers. I really enjoy the people that I work with here at our store. When Eide bought the store late last year, they offered to keep all of us, and they kept everyone who wanted to stay. It really is a great place.

Question 4: What makes the Eide Chrysler store different from other dealerships in the area?

Mike: They seem to be very employee oriented. We also have more of a rapport between the employees and the customers. I think that's what makes them different. They're trying to help out everybody.

Question 5: What do you do with your free time?

Mike: I live here in Bismarck, and I have a 22-year-old son and a 20-year-old daughter. They don't think it's so cool to hang out with dad any more but I try to spend as much time with them as I can.

Question 6: Who would you like to thank for this award?

Mike: I'd like to thank Jesse for recognizing me as the first Employee of the Month. He's come into this store with a positive gung-ho attitude and it's still a great place to work. I'd also like to thank my coworkers, and I want them to know that I didn't take these warranty responsibilities or clear the snow [see intro] just for my own recognition. I just did these this stuff so my coworkers could come to work. We've all gone through this transition as a team, and it's been going great so far.
